Mamori Sugita Hughes is an adjunct assistant professor of Japanese at Queens College. She received her Ph.D. in Linguistics from CUNY Graduate Center and B.A. from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. In addition to teaching at college for over 20 years, Mamori has developed Japanese language learning and assessment materials for publishers and institutions including U.S. Defense Language Institute, Penguin Random House, Berlitz, and Language Garage.
